By accessing and using BookSycle ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Description of Service
BookSycle is a mobile marketplace platform that connects book buyers and sellers. We provide:
- A platform to list, browse, and purchase used books
- AI-powered book scanning technology for easy listing creation
- Payment processing and order management tools
- Shipping coordination between buyers and sellers
User Accounts
Registration
To use BookSycle, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Not create multiple accounts
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Listing and Selling Books
Seller Requirements
When listing books for sale, you must:
- Own the books you list or have permission to sell them
- Provide accurate descriptions and photos
- Honestly represent the condition of books
- Set reasonable prices
- Not list prohibited items (counterfeit books, illegal materials)
Order Fulfillment
Sellers agree to:
- Ship books within 3 business days of receiving an order
- Package books securely to prevent damage
- Provide tracking information when available
- Communicate promptly with buyers
Buying Books
Payment
When you purchase a book:
- Payment is processed immediately through our secure payment system
- All sales are final unless the item is significantly not as described
- You agree to pay the listed price plus any applicable shipping fees
Receipt and Inspection
Upon receiving your book:
- Inspect the item within 48 hours of delivery
- Report any issues through the app immediately
- Contact the seller first to resolve minor issues
Fees and Payments
BookSycle charges the following fees:
- Listing books is free
- We charge a 10% service fee on completed sales
- Payment processing fees are automatically deducted
- Sellers receive payment within 5-7 business days after buyer confirms receipt
We reserve the right to change our fee structure with 30 days' notice.
Disputes and Refunds
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises:
- Contact the other party through the app to resolve the issue
- If unresolved, submit a dispute through our support system
- BookSycle will review evidence from both parties
- Our decision on disputes is final
Refund Policy
Refunds may be issued if:
- The book was significantly not as described
- The item was damaged during shipping (with proof)
- The seller fails to ship within 7 days without communication
- The item received was counterfeit or prohibited
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purposes
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
- Attempt to manipulate prices or reviews
- Share your account with others
- Scrape or copy data from the app
- Circumvent our fee structure
- Interfere with the app's operation or security
Intellectual Property
BookSycle and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BookSycle and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute it for operating our services.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Receive multiple complaints from other users
- Are inactive for more than 12 months
Limitation of Liability
BookSycle is a platform connecting buyers and sellers. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of items listed. We do not guarantee that transactions will be completed or that users will fulfill their obligations. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we may modify or discontinue features at any time.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of our registered jurisdiction.
